Blog Post #6: Reflecting on Interviews My problem that I chose was the homeless problem, specifically in San Francisco. The person I interviewed is related to this problem because they are residents of the city. They have lived in San Francisco for most of their life and can see firsthand the affects and impacts of homelessness. In addition, they are aware of the plans and actions the city government makes to combat the increase of homeless and people living on the street.  This might have impacted their answers because the answers they gave me had firsthand experiences of the homeless and a better insight to the problem since they are around downtown and areas affected the most. Being from San Francisco myself, I am aware of the homeless problem and I did not learn too much new information about the problem regarding to homelessness.   The issue that will be the topic of my interview is the homeless crisis in San Francisco. For my interview, I am thinking of interviewing my friend Toby. He has lived in San Francisco for most of his life and currently lives in the city. In addition, we grew up together, and we both went to the same high school which is located near the Tenderloin. He is a good person for me to interview because he travels around the city often and he sees the homeless crisis in San Francisco firsthand. In addition, he is a good friend of mine and setting up and conducting the interview will be easier to do. To conduct this interview, I am planning on interviewing Toby through face time because I am in San Diego and he is in San Francis co during this time. To record this interview with Toby, I will use an audio recording or a recording app to record the interview. Then, I will transcribe the interview into a script through Microsoft Word. I will explain the topic of this interview to Toby by exp...

It is the hub of unique architectural feats, a diverse population, and the center of new AI technology and business. The scenery of the bay area and the Golden Gate Bridge make the city one of the most unique cities in the country. However, the homeless crisis in San Francisco has been ongoing since the 1970s and has been a top priority for the city and the residents of San Francisco to change. Many different times, we hear about the news and updates of the homeless crisis and what is going on through the news, and we hear the city government take charge and explain what they are doing to change the situation. The mayor, Daniel Lurie, talks about his program, “Break the Cycle”, and explains he will give beds to those who need them. We also hear from frustrated business owners about the homeless individuals who find shelter outside their business buildings. The homeless of S...
